When should the training of a puppy start? |
|
The best time to take a puppy is between the 8th and the 12th week, or after the 2nd month. In Bulgaria the puppy should have 3 vaccinations, as the last is put on the 12th week. After the second vaccination the puppy can already go out but most of the owners prefer to keep the puppy at home until it is at least 3 months old. Some people are asking when the best time for the puppy training is – but the truth is that there is not a preferable age. It’s better for the training to start as early as it can. If the puppy goes to its new home at the age of 3 months, its training starts from the first day – it has to look over the new place, to know its new owners and everything is a part from the training. After the dog is used enough to its new place, so it feels like home it comes the time for the socialization of the puppy with other dogs and humans, housebreaking, learning its place. You have to take in mind that the puppy can’t learn everything at once, it has to have enough time between the learning of one command and starting the next one. It has to remember it very good the first one, so the second can start.
The education of the dog last very long, until every command is well learned and remembered. But even if your pet knows everything you want from it perfect it still needs to be trained very often. Even the simplest command can be forgotten very fast if it hasn’t been repeated for a very long period of time. That’s why there isn’t an age for beginning or finishing the dogs training…it lasts it whole life. |
